Frank is Partner and Co-Owner of Sutter Antiques, LLC and has been active in the art and antiques trade since 1985. He began his career that year working with founder Alfons Sutter at the New York City gallery Sutter Antiques.
In 1995, he helped establish 20th Century Gallery, expanding the firm’s focus to include twentieth-century design. The galleries were unified in 2005 under the banner Sutter Antiques, LLC.
Frank oversees the gallery’s marketing and advertising, website management, photography, and the daily operations of the showroom.
Alfons Sutter is the founder of Sutter Antiques, LLC, and has been active in the art and antiques trade for several decades. After beginning his career in London in the early 1970s, he established the gallery in New York City with a focus on European and Asian antiques and decorative arts.
Over the years, Sutter Antiques expanded its scope to include twentieth-century design with the creation of 20th Century Gallery. In 2005, the galleries were unified under the banner Sutter Antiques, LLC.
As founder of the gallery, Alfons Sutter oversees buying, merchandising, and curation, bringing a highly developed eye for form, craftsmanship, and historical context to the gallery’s program. Through his work as a dealer, he has developed longstanding relationships with collectors, designers, and institutions, and has become well-regarded for his understanding of European antiques, Asian art, and decorative arts.
